Learn about our passionate team, and how you can help!
Our amazing team of volunteers are committed to helping animals in our community. We take our convictions and turn them into action. Think you would be a good fit? See our contact page for more information!
Seeking a nonprofit to support our community's animals, we formed our organization to provide sensible solutions. We've grown considerably since then, all thanks to the helping hands of this amazing community!
We focus on making the maximum positive effect. Our members and volunteers provide the momentum we need. Using community driven models, we take actions that make a long-lasting difference.
We focus on dogs in hi Kill shelters and dogs whose person requires our help and guidance
Your support and contributions will enable us to help these animals. Your generous donation will fund our mission.
Buddy is a 7yo paralyzed male poodle who was saved from the dreaded MANH ACC Kill list last July. Unfortunately, he was never diagnosed with a back issue. On adoption it became obvious Buddy had both behavioral and medical concerns that his original adopter could not deal with and Buddy was placed as a Foster with a very dedicated couple in Sept.
Buddy bonded with the lady Foster - followed her down cellar stairs and the next day was unable to walk. He was brought to a Vet immediately - diagnosed with a back issue and treated with steroids, cold laser treatment and pain med. Unfortunately the medical care did not result in his paralysis issue improvement.
He was examined by a Neurologist who did not recommend surgery. We have stood by Buddy - maintaining pain med and seeking a behavioral therapist. We are a small independent newly formed 501c3 Dog Rescue - we have to depend on the good will of dog advocates and those willing to assist with Buddy's care to continue to give him the level of medical and behavioral support he requires.
Buddy is a good boy - he's affectionate towards his Fosters - playful and active, allows some back scratches and massage - but is not able to be handled physically - so getting a band on him or introducing him to a dog cart so far has been impossible.
We NEED your help to give Buddy a chance at normalizing his life - we NEED donations to continue his care and help his loving Fosters. PLEASE consider being a true rescue support dog person to give Buddy a chance to to improve emotionally and physically.
Behavioral therapy is expensive and in Buddy's case will be on-going. A re-evaluation by a Neurologist is required and is also an expensive option. Donations can be made to GFS PayPal acct: dogsrescuenow@gmail.com - in Buddy's name. Please pay as a 'Friend' or direct to:
